Dori still has one unrealized broadcast dream, which nearly came true on Sunday.
“My one unfulfilled goal – I’ve done a lot of play-by-play. I did the state high school football and basketball championships for many years, a year of minor league baseball, and I really thought that that’s what I was going to do … I never pursued that dream.”

But on Sunday, during the Seahawks-Bears game, Dori got the call up when Steve Raible, Seahawks radio play-by-play, and Warren Moon, commentator, were both down on the field for a Seahawks alumni ceremony.
They told Dori he was to stand by in case Raible wasn’t able to get back to the broadcast booth in time.
Sure enough: “And Steve Raible just making his way back up from the field where they had a very nice halftime ceremony…”
Dori was thrilled to carry the broadcast into the second half, not knowing that Tyler Lockett was about to make history.
“Then I see Raible all out of breath, walking into the booth, and I still don’t know if he’s going to get his headphones on in time.”
Of course, Raible did and stuck it to Dori: “I’m glad you were here, but I know you would like to do this kickoff…”
And the rest is history. But not Dori’s.
