Al Gore coming to Inslee’s aid as he pushes for global warming tax grab in Washington

Al Gore is coming to our region to do a fundraiser for his buddy Gov. Jay Inslee.

While Inslee is a friend of the show, you know I passionately disagree with him on this whole issue of global warming and the plans to raise taxes billions of dollars in our state over the next several years in order to fight this phony boogeyman of global warming.

We’re just starting to get an idea of how much it may end up costing us. On Monday, they did press conferences talking about his approach to all of this and what they’re talking about now is a gas tax that could raise costs about 37 cents a gallon. I put in about 15 gallons a week. A 37-cent increase would cost me about $225 a year.

But what’s very interesting if you start reading some of the fine print of some of the things the governor’s office put out Monday, they talked more and more about how they’re going to mitigate the cost for the poor.

So, what is going to happen is the middle class is going to get hit the most by this. If you’re a salesperson, if you’re a tradesperson, and you have to have your tools in your truck, you don’t have the option of taking light rail when you go to a client or customer call. So you’re going to get hit.

This has nothing to do with the planet or climate change or global warming. They’re going to take all this gas tax money from the middle class, from the wealthier people around here and they are going to send checks to the poor to mitigate their expense.

On Monday, a reporter from KIRO TV asked Jay Inslee about the kind of cost increase we’re going to see.

“We can do this at pennies and our kids’ health is worth pennies,” said Inslee.

Our kids’ health? This has nothing to do with our kids’ health. China is pumping so much into the atmosphere, if Washington reduces by a fraction, it’s not going to make any difference. It’s all a scam. Let me tell you why this is such a scam.

Al Gore, who is coming to this region to do a big fundraiser for Jay Inslee, two years ago sent out a tweet with a link to an article that talked about how little ice there was in the Great Lakes, and it said this is directly attributable to global warming.

So tell me this. If the carbon emissions haven’t gone down since 2012, wouldn’t there be a straight line, wouldn’t the Great Lakes get worse in 2013 and worse in 2014?

Apparently not. Last year, the Great Lakes had record-breaking ice. So if Al Gore in 2012 says low ice in the Great Lakes means global warming, then why couldn’t somebody say in 2013, record ice in the great lakes means global warming is over?

That is every bit as intellectually honest an argument as the one that Al Gore made a year earlier. But he’s a scam artist with a bunch of cult followers who will buy anything that they’re fed.

This year, reports say ice is visible on Lake Superior weeks ahead of schedule. Artic blasts have sparked the earliest start to ice formation ever on Lake Superior.

So now, we’re going to have a two-year trend that refutes Al Gore’s one year trend. I guess we’re twice as right as Al Gore! But the fact is we’re actually a million times as right as Al Gore.

According to Hot Air, the global warming pause has now lasted 18 years and one month. Peter Ferrara, with the Heartland Institute tells them: “If you look at the record of global temperature data, you will find that the late 20th Century period of global warming actually lasted about 20 years, from the late 1970s to the late 1990s. Before that, the globe was dominated by about 30 years of global cooling, giving rise in the 1970s to media discussions of the return of the Little Ice Age (circa 1450 to 1850), or worse.”

They can’t explain it, so now they say it’s climate change. They said we were going to have record hurricanes, but we haven’t had a major cat hurricane in the longest period recorded in American history. All this is a way for them to get money so they can send checks to the poor people and they can spend more of it.

Their models haven’t been right. They’ve used phony data, and yet we’re going to be taxed billions of dollars here in Washington to fight all of this. They’ve even talked about how we’ve got to use this to give the poor more handouts.

“We have measures that we intend to talk to the legislature about to help ameliorate any additional costs for energy with low income folks,” said Inslee.

But I thought this was about saving the planet? No. It’s just to collect a lot of money.

The legislature better stand up to this because this is a cult. It’s a scam. It’s a lie. But most tax grabs are built on those things.
